Our Magic Production Kitchen

A huge amount of care and precision has gone into the sourcing of ingredients and perfecting the processes in every aspect of the Macarons & More kitchen. Macarons are temperamental little treats - definitely the divas of the patisserie! When we moved kitchens in 2010 it took three weeks to get the recipe perfect again, because macarons react easily to different ovens and humidity levels.

We use natural colourings and flavourings – such as marigold and grape skins, coffee and spices - because keeping it natural is important to us. We're equally committed to sourcing as much of our ingredients as possible locally.

About Tim

From Medicine to Macarons via MasterChef

After school Tim went to medical school in Birmingham where he met his wife Rachel, who is also a doctor and with whom he has two children. Tim trained as Paediatrician and worked as a consultant in Norwich. Whilst he loved being a doctor, Tim’s passion for cooking was a thread that ran throughout his life.

In 2009, Tim filled in an application for the TV programme Masterchef, was invited to audition and won a place on the show.

The experience of being on Masterchef 2010 was challenging and exciting and had Tim cooking amazing food in intense situations. Between the filming and the airing of the series, life carried on as usual – but when the show aired and Tim was a runner up in the final, everything changed.

Tim left his job as a doctor in February 2010 and started his business from his kitchen, perfecting his recipes for exquisitely delicious macarons, tarts, cakes and other treats.

Word spread and Tim soon found himself outgrowing his workspace – in September 2010 he moved to a production kitchen in Watton, Norfolk.

In 2011 Tim and the Macarons & More team launched an online business and now deliver their delights throughout the UK.

In March 2013 the first Macarons & More shop opened in the beautiful Royal Arcade in Norwich. In the Autumn of 2013 Macarons & More won the 'Beautfiful Baking' category in the EDP Food & Drink Awards and were runners up in the Observer Food Monthly Independent Retailer category.
