In line with the new General Data Protection Regulation that is enacted from 25th May 2018, we’ve updated out Privacy Notice so that anyone who wishes to be informed about what we do with their data should find out everything they need to know on this page. The contract that we agree with our customers forms the legal basis for storing and processing their data.
The purpose of the GDPR legislation is to give individuals more control over their personal data and how it is processed. We fully endorse this principle and want to be completely transparent about the data we collect, why we collect it, how we use it and what happens to it when you no longer require our services.
When we receive a visitor to www.macaronsandmore.com, we use the third-party service Google Analytics to collect the standard internet log information. Google Analytics works by reading the user's IP address then setting a cookie on www.macaronsandmore.com containing a unique ID (so Google can get accurate audience figures). The IP address is then never used again. The unique ID has no personal identity information held within it.

As per the online orders, all customer accounts are held in a password-protected database on our IP locked server. Other than the customer name and email address, no other data is held in the customer account part of the database, and this is only accessible to the customer on the front-end of the website via their password-protected account.
Customer addresses are held in a password-protected database on our IP-locked server. This data is not accessible anywhere outside of the database or the customer’s own account, nor is it accessible to the Macarons & More team.
All online orders are held in a password-protected database on our IP-locked server. The only details held are the name and address of both the customer placing the order and the recipient. Macarons & More also gather temporary order details relating to a customer’s order to assist with the ordering process. This information is automatically deleted upon completion of the order or can be setup to be automatically deleted after 12 months.
Customer data is subscribed to MailChimp for the purpose of email marketing. As per GDPR guidelines, no customer will be contacted unless they have provided consent via the website. This marketing is managed by both Macarons & More and a third-party, RWD Click Ltd.
